It is that time of year again, the competition season is nearing an end and that means time for nominations to the Solo Advisory Committee (SAC) membership. So if you or anyone you know are interested in serving on the Solo Advisory Committee now is the time to get their name or yours in the hat for next year’s SAC. There is a very short time limit this year due to some changes that the current SAC have just approved.
 
Qualifications: In order to be a member of the SAC for St. Louis Region you must be an SCCA member in good standing as well as a St. Louis Region member. The only other requirement is the willingness to attend the meetings and work to make the season a success.
 
Makeup of the SAC: The SAC shall be made up of up to 10 members + the chairman. There are three named positions with specific duties:
Chairman – Leads the meetings, has the tie breaking vote in any point being voted upon and reports to the Regional Executive and the Board of Directors the status of the program, the budget, and any other items requiring BOD approval.
 
Treasurer – Handles the Solo Program budget, accounting records and bank account. Makes all payments for our site usage, our sanction fees and our allotment to the region as well as all other validated expenditures and receives all entry fees for all events, regular and special. Reports financial status to the SAC Committee and is an Assistant Treasurer to the Region elected Treasurer.
 
Secretary – Takes meeting minutes and posts to the SAC group for approval by the members of the SAC.
 
All other positions are member at large positions. If you are interested in any of the named positions please note that on your communication when you send in the nomination.
 
When Due: All nominations must be received by midnight on the last Saturday of September. For all future years nominations must be in by midnight September 15th.
 
How Members will be selected: If more than one person indicates the desire to serve in any of the three named positions then there will be a poll taken of all SCCA Region members present at the first event in October to select the people to fill those positions from all of those who have expressed an interest to serve in that capacity. If there are more than the maximum 10 + Chairman nominees for the SAC then after the Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer positions have been determined all other names will be placed in a hat and names drawn until all remaining positions have been filled.
 
How to place a name in nomination: Before you nominate someone please confirm with them that they are willing to serve on the committee. Then you can email the nomination to this email address:
